Sports curriculum provides students with the advantage of a well-rounded development during their formative years, through the encouraging of psychomotor learning in a play or movement exploration setting.
To ensure that students develop a healthy lifestyle, the physical education curriculum is also infused with health and nutrition knowledge and activities.
Games and activities are planned in accordance to the needs of the different age groups, so as to ensure a smooth transition from childhood play to competitive sports. However, the priority is to develop the student's positive attitude towards physical activity and the enjoyment of sports, rather than solely on the competitiveness of the games.
Athletics
Through the athletics education programme, students learn the importance of cultivating a healthy body and mind. The curriculum emphasizes on having fun, exploration and skill-building through various sports and physical training.
In addition, the development of good sportsmanship and leadership skill is one of the key emphases of the programme.
Tennis
The tennis education programme aims to provide students with the experience, knowledge and skills necessary to enjoy and appreciate the game, so that they develop in areas such as physical fitness positive attitude and sportsmanship spirit.
Swimming
Considered a life skill, the swimming education programme aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge to be water safe and be able to engage in a wide variety of aquatic activities as lifetime sports both for recreational and healthy pursuits.
Football
The football education programme provides the opportunity for students to develop their full potential in areas relating to technical knowledge, tactical abilities, psychological capacity and physical in a way that is appropriate for their age group.
Basketball
The basketball education programme focuses on instilling a spirit of good sportsmanship and fair, hard play.
Gymnastics
Students are encouraged to participate in gymnastics education programme, which provides the opportunity for them to develop personally, socially and physically in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Gymnastics contributes significantly to overall fitness as it uses muscle groups and body orientations that are uncommon to many other activities.
Others
Excelsior International School also offers other sports and activities, such as badminton, Sepak Takraw and Volleyball, to name a few. Additional sports will be added from time to time.

The Handbook contains information for participation in this year's sports programme. The sports programme starts at Grade 4 and moves through to grade 9.
To register for sports students should complete the Student-Athlete Registration and Agreement & Promise Forms and return both papers to the PE Office in the gym.
Any inquiries regarding participation in the sports programme should be directed to the PE Office.
